One of the themes behind this picture is the way in which artefacts outlive their creators. The shapes depicted all originate from China - as observed in the Burrell Collection in Glasgow’s Pollock Park and with some items also included from the British Museum, London. The scales of the various items have been adjusted to provide the resulting profile. The theme of Egyptian art has been used to create a separate similar picture which is not currently on display though is described later. I also have images of stone tools going back at least 250,000 created by extinct lines of human evolution – which show precisely the individual cut marks made on them.
